Frequently asked questions
Everything you need to know about Dockish.
Does Dockish replace the default macOS dock?
Dockish runs alongside the default dock. You can hide the system dock in System Preferences → Desktop & Dock → Automatically hide and show the Dock, then use Dockish as your primary dock.
How do multi-monitor docks work?
You can choose to show Dockish on all monitors (mirrored or independent), or select a specific monitor. Independent mode lets each display have its own pinned apps and folders. Hot-plug is fully supported.
Can I use folders like on iPhone?
Yes! Drag one app onto another to create a folder. You'll see a 2x2 preview grid of the apps inside. Click to expand and access all apps, with full context menu support.
What's smart window management?
Clicking an app behaves intelligently: if it's not running, it launches with a bounce animation. If running but not focused, it brings all windows to front. If already focused, it minimizes. Right-click shows a window list.
Does Dockish support Chrome profiles?
Yes! Right-click Chrome and you'll see all your Chrome profiles listed. Select one to open a new window in that profile directly from the dock.
What happens when an app goes fullscreen?
Dockish automatically hides when any app enters fullscreen mode, just like the native dock. It reappears when you exit fullscreen.
