Menuish: a tidy menu bar for macOS 27. Out 17 November.

Hide the icons you don't need, keep the ones you do, and never lose one behind the notch.

Two optional questions

Up to five emails about Menuish's launch, then nothing more unless you tick the box for Appish's occasional product updates.

When it's out: a one-time purchase, a 7-day free trial, and no tracking in the app.

What Menuish 1.0 does

The notch

Checks your icons fit beside the notch, so none get lost behind it

If they won't fit, Menuish says how many and moves them to Hidden in one click, where they're a click away. Icons macOS has already pushed behind the notch are listed in its panel, and open from there.

Camera and microphone

Unhides icons while the camera or microphone is in use

While any icon is hidden, macOS takes away the menu bar's camera and microphone control, the part that shows which app is using them. Menuish shows every icon while one is in use, so you can see which app it is.

  • Visible, Hidden and Always Hidden sections
  • Reveal hidden icons with a click or a hotkey
  • Shows every icon if hiding ever fails
  • A setup for each display arrangement
  • A locked icon order

Menuish needs macOS 27 or later, on a Mac with Apple silicon. The locked icon order uses Full Disk Access, which is optional: Menuish reads and writes only the menu bar's own settings.
