The biggest update I've ever shipped: all four Appish apps

Layoutish 1.3.7, Soundish 1.5.3, Lockish 1.6.0 and Dockish 1.2.6 are out after two weeks of testing on macOS 27, and every licence now works on up to 3 of your own Macs.

Appish·

For the last two weeks I've worked on nothing else. I took each of the four Appish apps apart and tested them on macOS 27 in every setup I could put together: one screen, three screens through a dock, the lid closed, sleep and wake, restarts and time offline. Some tests ran hundreds of times overnight, to catch the problems that only show up once in a while. Then I fixed what they found.

The result is out today: Layoutish 1.3.7, Soundish 1.5.3, Lockish 1.6.0 and Dockish 1.2.6. Many of the improvements came straight from your emails, so thank you for every one of them.

To update, click any app's icon in the menu bar, open its Settings and choose Check for Updates.

Your licence now works on up to 3 of your own Macs

You asked for this one. Several of you wrote to me wanting your key on more than one Mac, so now one key covers your laptop and your desktop, with a spare for when you move to a new Mac.

It goes for every app, for every licence in a team pack, and for every app in the Suite. There's nothing to do: your key already has its extra Macs. Moving to a new Mac still works the same way. Click Deactivate on this Mac in the old Mac's settings, then enter your key on the new one.

Help, inside every app

Each app now has Help in its Settings. There's a check that tells you what's working and how to fix what isn't, and a diagnostics file you can send me if something ever goes wrong. The file is saved on your Mac and nothing is sent: you read it first, then decide whether to email it to me. Your licence key and your email address are never in it.

Help on the Website opens the full guide to each app, with every feature and setting explained:

What's new in each app

Layoutish 1.3.7: stacked as you left them. Windows come back in the order you left them, on every display. Display profiles recognise your monitors at any scaling and apply a layout only when your displays really change. Your layouts are safer, and Layoutish now says why when a layout can't be applied.

Soundish 1.5.3: Help, and a round of fixes. Routing is steadier, saved volumes stick, and Soundish looks after itself when macOS restarts its audio. Speakers and wired headphones rest when the apps playing to them stop.

Lockish 1.6.0: every window, every display. Every window of a locked app is covered as it appears, on every display. Finder locking works, logging out no longer waits for Touch ID, and Lockish needs one permission instead of two.

Dockish 1.2.6: your Dock, as you had it. Quitting Dockish puts your macOS Dock back exactly as you had it. Two features customers asked for are in: Preview Size and Transparency. Window previews show all of an app's windows.

Don't have all four?

Every app runs a full 7-day trial, with nothing held back and no card. They're one-time purchases with lifetime updates:

Thank you for using my apps, and for telling me when something isn't right. If anything looks off after you update, email me at hello@appish.app. It comes straight to me, and I read every one.
